Remote support software helps IT professionals access, troubleshoot, and manage devices without being physically present. Look for capabilities such as remote control, unattended access, screen sharing, file transfer, remote reboot, monitoring, and security controls when evaluating these platforms.
NinjaOne is the best remote access software based on G2’s 2026 Remote Support Software Grid® Report. It has the highest G2 Score among the tools I evaluated, while reviewers also rate its unattended access and remote reboot capabilities highly.
TeamViewer is one of the most widely reviewed tools in my shortlist, with over 3400 G2 reviews. I’d consider it for teams needing cross-platform remote control, screen sharing, file transfer, and straightforward connections across different devices and operating systems.
I’d look closely at NinjaOne for broader IT support. It combines unattended remote access and remote reboot with patching, monitoring, scripting, and deployment, making it useful when I want remote troubleshooting connected directly to the wider endpoint-management workflow.
I’d consider Action1 for Windows-focused environments, particularly when patching and remediation matter alongside remote access. It combines browser-based remote desktop, remote reboot, scripting, and automated Windows patching, although its remote-support capabilities are currently more developed on Windows.
I’d consider TeamViewer well-suited for remote desktop support. Its strengths include screen sharing, remote device control, file transfer, multi-monitor support, and cross-platform connectivity. G2 reviewers also frequently highlight its intuitive interface and quick, straightforward connection process.
Several tools in my evaluation show strong verified-user sentiment. Action1 and AirDroid Business both hold 4.9/5 G2 ratings, while NinjaOne and Zoho Assist have 4.7/5, giving support leaders multiple highly rated options depending on their workflow.

AirDroid Business stands out for mobile device access, scoring 94% on G2, particularly around Android-focused management. For broader operating-system coverage, I’d consider TeamViewer and JumpCloud, which both receive strong Multi-Platform Support scores from G2 reviewers.
Datto RMM comes closest among the tools I evaluated through its broader Kaseya ecosystem. G2 reviewers value integrations with IT Glue and Autotask, which can surface documentation, credentials, and ticket context within technicians’ workflows and reduce unnecessary tool switching.
I’d put TeamViewer and Zoho Assist high on the list for screen sharing, with both scoring 94% on G2. Zoho Assist also appears in G2’s Co-Browsing category, making it especially relevant when interactive, visual support is important.
JumpCloud stands out here because reviewers say its single sign-on and identity-management capabilities can reduce password-related helpdesk tickets. Its centralized device, access, and security controls also give IT teams more ways to address issues proactively before escalation becomes necessary.

I’d choose among them based on priorities such as endpoint management, screen sharing, usability, administration, automation, mobile support, or ease of deployment.
To build this list, I used data from G2’s latest Remote Support Software Grid® Report, verified user reviews, and current product information. I focused on the signals that help IT teams and support professionals compare tools meaningfully, from overall market standing to how well each product supports day-to-day remote troubleshooting.
For a tool to be included in the remote support software category, it should:
After comparing these tools, I’d focus less on who has the longest feature list and more on how well each one fits your support workflow. Some are stronger for screen sharing and quick access, while others bring remote support together with endpoint management, automation, patching, or identity controls.
My advice: choose the tool that helps your team connect faster, troubleshoot with less friction, and manage the devices you actually support.
