General guidelines

  • Please research our website to ensure your article topic isn't already covered on the Learning Hub.
  • Submit your pitch and wait to see if it is accepted before writing any content. We do not accept pre-written blogs.
  • If your pitch is approved, we will share a link to a Google Doc, where you will add your content. All further edits and reviews will be made in the same Google Doc.
  • If you do not respond to us within 2 business weeks of our last conversation, we will terminate the process. Don’t worry, we will follow up with you as a reminder. However, if your blog post is ready and has moved to our editing queue, we will send you a final notification and publish the article.

Guidelines for services provider companies

  • To support G2’s Services categories, we welcome services providers to share their unique experiences and expertise with us.
  • Topics may include product implementation or integration guides, how-to guides, or insider knowledge on a specific tool, tool comparisons based on implementation times, etc.
  • While we are looking for specific mentions of product names and their functionalities, we do not want the content to promote a particular product or service. We only want to highlight your expertise with the product or service.

From the editor's desk

G2's editorial team reserves the right to make final edits, which may include removing promotional content, removing competing links, rewording copy to align with our editorial standards, and adding category CTA buttons and links.

  • Our word count goal is 2,500+ words minimum.
  • Fill out the Writer’s Use section in the Google Doc when you submit the article outline.
  • We include two do-follow links to your site. Do-follow links should be educational blogs that are non-promotional. Kindly avoid software lists, product pages, service pages, demo pages, home pages, gated content, and landing pages.
  • Your links must not contain a keyword that competes with existing content on the Learning Hub.
  • All links from external resources must be cited. If you include material sourced from other sites, please attribute.
  • The article must be centered around at least one target keyword.
  • The article should not be promotional, i.e., it promotes your product, service, or demos.
  • The article must not contain product or tool listicles (G2 ranks tools based on G2 user reviews only).

Terminating an ongoing collaboration

G2 reserves the right to terminate an ongoing collaboration if the content is syndicated, copied, AI-generated, or plagiarized from your blog or someone else's.

G2’s views on AI-generated content

We do not accept content that is AI-generated.

We believe AI must only be used to research, gather ideas, or outline a topic. We only publish unique content that comes from the experience and thought leadership of our contributor network.

G2 uses an internal system to identify and flag fully AI-generated content. We also work with third-party providers to ensure our analysis is correct and reliable.

If your content flags as AI-generated, G2 reserves the right to terminate the collaboration immediately.

FAQs

  • What is a guest blog?

Guest blogs are educational SEO articles written by non-G2 employees for G2's Learning Hub. They are used as a tool to amplify subject matter experts' voices in their niche and/or respective G2 categories.

  • Do you accept pre-written blogs?

No, G2 does not accept pre-written blog posts. All guest blogs on G2 have to go through our full editorial process to qualify for publication, which includes topic ideation, keyword selection, outlining, writing, and editing.

  • What happens next?

Submit your pitch. Pitches are reviewed on a rolling basis. We will contact you with the next steps if we feel it fits our Learning Hub. If you don't hear back from us, we've decided to pass.

  • Is there a way to increase my chance of being published?

    • Abide by all guidelines
    • Own your subject matter
    • Don't plagiarize or repurpose old content; don’t use AI-generated content
    • Write to a business audience
    • Don't self-promote or sell your brand's products/services
    • Provide useful and actionable advice
    • Use compelling language and an easy-to-read structure
    • Include images (we love videos too!)
    • Use data when relevant and link to expert sources

  • How long does the publication process take?

We typically work on an 8–12 week production schedule from topic approval to publishing the article on our site. However, we have many contributors with in-progress content, so this time frame may fluctuate. Please be patient with the process while we work with you to make the piece the best it can be.

  • Do you syndicate content?

No, G2 does not syndicate content.

  • After writing once, how often can I contribute?

We adhere to a once per quarter contribution time frame from a single source to ensure we provide our readers with diverse content. This means a maximum of 4 blog posts per 12-month period, so long as there are available topics. We do not plan out a full year's worth of blogs in advance and can only work on one blog at a time.
  • Our collaboration was terminated mid-process. What happened?

If your content flags as AI-generated, G2 reserves the right to terminate the collaboration immediately.
  • My blog post was removed. What happened?

The best content always remains fresh. With this in mind, content written before a certain time frame is subject to removal, rewriting, or refreshing.

As noted in the guidelines above, G2's editorial team reserves the right to make changes, including removing underperforming, out-of-date, off-topic, and/or misaligned content.

Your content may no longer be active on the site, or we may publish new content from a different author under at same URL.

  • Do you blog swap or write for other sites?

We can, as agreed upon by our writers and your team. However, this depends on our in-house writing team's capacity at the time of your request.

  • Can we pay to publish our blogs on G2?

No. Our platform is reserved exclusively for educational content that meets our editorial guidelines. We do not offer paid posts or sponsorships. The team will auto-reject any paid post inquiries.
  • I have a different question!

For other questions and press inquiries, please email contributors@g2.com.
