A decade is a common term, but can sometimes be misapprehended.
A decade is a span of 10 years. The origin of the term comes from the Greek word, dekas (δεκάς) dated from the 17th century. The prefix ‘dec’ comes from Latin and Greek meaning ‘ten’ and is a common English-language numeral prefix. (Think of words like decibel, decagon, decimeter, decimal, decathlon, etc…)
At the time of publishing, a decade ago was 2009. Major technological advancements took place in this span of time. Let’s take a look at the breakthroughs we have witnessed.
